How can I easily identify and filter float pool staff in TeamBuilder?
To make float pool staff easy to find and assign, we recommend updating their titles to include “float” (e.g., MA Float, PSR Float). This allows you to filter and report on float staff quickly.
If your staff titles do not currently include “float,” please submit a ticket to your internal User Provisioning team to have their titles updated.
Scheduling Float Pool Staff
What are the main ways to schedule float pool staff in TeamBuilder?
There are two common approaches you can choose from:
- Build the float pool schedule first – keep staff in the float pool, then reassign them to practices as needs arise.
- Schedule staff directly into practices – place float staff into practices up front when you know the assignment.
Both methods are supported. Pick the approach that best fits your workflow.
What happens when float pool staff are assigned to a practice?
Once a float staff member is assigned to a practice, they are automatically removed from the float pool schedule and appear on the practice’s schedule.
How do I handle last-minute changes or flexible float staff?
You can tag float pool staff as “flexible” if you want them available for last-minute assignments. Otherwise, keep them scheduled in the float pool office to prevent unplanned assignments.
Availability & Unavailability
How do I set staff availability and unavailability?
- Set broad availability for each float pool staff member.
- Use unavailable dates for specific exceptions (e.g., PTO, days off).
- If a staff member only works in certain practices, you can remove other practices from their availability settings.
Reporting & Tracking
How can I see where my float pool staff are assigned?
Use the Schedule Details report to view assignments across practices and time periods. You can filter by role or staff name for a clear overview.
Requests & Communication
Can I include practice addresses and contact details in the schedule?
TeamBuilder displays the practice name, but not the full address. Options:
- Add notes to individual shifts with location details.
- Maintain a shared master list of addresses and contacts for staff reference.
