We’ve made two platform improvements to help schedulers better understand staff unavailability and review template exceptions with more context.
These updates make it easier to keep the schedule focused on what matters most, while still giving you access to important unavailability and conflict details when needed.
Improved Visibility into Staff Unavailability
Schedulers now have a cleaner way to view staff unavailability without adding unnecessary clutter to the schedule.
Staff who already have a shift at the selected location will continue to display directly in the schedule. If that staff member also has unavailability, they will show with an OUT label in their name cell.
For staff who are unavailable but do not already have a visible shift at the selected location, you can use the Out (X) control to show or hide them.
Each staff section now includes two controls:
- The section collapse arrow is located on the left side of the staff section header.
- The Out (X) control appears on the right side of the staff section header.
The number next to Out shows the total unavailable primary staff for that section. Select the eye icon to show or hide those unavailable staff members.
Each section can be controlled separately, so you can show unavailable staff in one section while keeping another section hidden.
This helps keep the schedule focused on the staff and shifts that are most important to review first. When needed, schedulers can still view unavailable staff to better understand who is scheduled, who is unavailable, and where coverage may need attention.
Clearer Template Exception Details
We’ve improved the template exception report to make conflicts easier to review when applying a template.
When a template cannot be fully applied, the report now gives a clearer view of what the template tried to add and what prevented it from being added.
The template name now appears at the top of the exception report, so you can confirm which template is being applied.
The exception report now focuses on the most important details:
Name: Shows the staff member connected to the exception, including their role.
Requested: Shows the shift or unavailability the template tried to add.
Conflict: Shows the existing item preventing the requested item from being added.
Actions: Shows the available options for reviewing the exception.
The Requested and Conflict details are now grouped together, making it easier to understand what happened without scanning across multiple columns.
